    What is this site about? ...  This web site is a resource for those people relocating to the areas of Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley in Alaska.  If you are one of these fortunate few, this is where you will find all kinds of useful information, tools, informative articles and help from people who live and work in Alaska. Please explore this web site and let us know if you have any suggestions to improve it.

    How do I use this site? ... The buttons on the left will take you to all the resources on this site. The buttons entitled " Anchorage" and "Valley Info." will introduce you those areas and describe the different features and neighborhoods of each. The "MLS Search" button will take you to the Statewide Alaska MLS system to search for homes in Anchorage and the Valley. Click on the "Moving Kit" button and you will finds all sorts of useful information and resources for your move.  In the "Exploring Alaska" section we give you a look at things to see  and do in Alaska.  And in our "On-line Videos" section you can view our Alaskan Adventure videos, email them to your friends, or download them to play on your computer or iPod.

    Who owns this site? ... Ray & Nancy Wood, the "Alaskan Woods" own and maintain this site. We help friends and clients buy and sell Real Estate.  We published this site because we felt that our area needed an easy-to-use relo information source without all the ads and sales gimmicks you normally get. We think it's good for for you and it's good business for us to provide you a quality site for information you need for your move.  

    Do I have to register to search the MLS listings? ... You won't have to fill out any forms or give us any personal information to search the MLS listings or obtain information from this site.  We want to earn your business, not spam you with unwanted emails, letters and "follow-up" phone calls.  When the time comes for you to buy a home we hope you'll call on us and give us a chance to earn your business!

    We have made our home in South-Central Alaska for twenty-three years.  We have flown over, camped in, paddled, rafted, hiked, snow shoed and skied over much of the state during that time.  We've been over-heated, half-frozen, elated,  exhausted, relaxed, sometimes scared to death while reveling in one of the most beautiful places on earth.  Alaska isn't just a place to live, it's an adventure.
